Referral Credit Policy

How HomeField Tax referral credits are earned, applied, and lost.

Effective September 1, 2026 · Last updated 2026-08-14

This Referral Credit Policy (the "Policy") governs the HomeField Tax referral credit program (the "Program"). The Program is offered by Cloud Ledger Solutions LLC d/b/a HomeField Tax ("HomeField Tax," "we," or "us"), 48 Sumter Avenue, East Williston, New York 11596; telephone (347) 320-0427; email hello@homefieldtax.com. Tax assessment reduction service registration no. 928.

This Policy is separate from our Website Terms and Conditions and from the Property Tax Grievance Agreement you sign. It does not change how we calculate a fee, it does not promise an assessment reduction, and it does not make anyone our client. If this Policy conflicts with a signed Property Tax Grievance Agreement, the signed agreement controls.

1. What the program is

A HomeField Tax client (the "referrer") can share a referral code. A Nassau County homeowner who enters that code when they sign up (the "referred homeowner") becomes a referral.

If the referral qualifies under section 6, both people receive a credit against their own HomeField Tax fee. Each credit is currently $50.

A credit is promotional. It has no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and can be used only as this Policy describes.

2. Who can take part

To share a code you must be at least 18, hold a signed HomeField Tax Property Tax Grievance Agreement, and have an account in good standing when the code is used.

To be a referred homeowner you must own an eligible Nassau County residential property that is not already with HomeField Tax, and you must not already be recorded as someone else's referral.

You cannot refer yourself, a property you own or co-own, or another member of your household.

3. How a referral is assigned

The code entered at signup is what creates the referral. Nothing else does.

  • Sending an invitation does not reserve a referral.
  • If more than one person invited the same homeowner, the code actually entered at signup decides who receives the credit.
  • A code cannot be added, changed, or removed after signup.
  • If no code is entered at signup, no credit is awarded.

4. Sharing a code

Share your code with people you know: friends, family, neighbours.

Tell them you may receive a credit if the referral qualifies. Say only what is true about us and about your own experience.

Do not send bulk or unsolicited messages, buy advertising, post your code publicly as an advertisement, or use automated calling, texting, or messaging tools.

You are not our employee, agent, or representative, and you cannot make promises or give guarantees on our behalf.

5. The credit amount

Each side of a qualifying referral currently carries a $50 credit.

The amount shown when the referred homeowner signs up is the amount that applies to that referral, and it is fixed at that moment. Later changes to the Program do not change it.

Some codes we issue are for tracking only and carry no credit for the person who shared them. The referred homeowner's credit is the same either way.

6. When a credit is earned

A credit is earned only once all of the following have happened:

  1. the referred homeowner signed a HomeField Tax Property Tax Grievance Agreement using the referrer's code;
  2. the cancellation period passed without cancellation;
  3. the referrer and the referred homeowner each filed for that tax year through HomeField Tax and through nobody else; and
  4. the referrer and the referred homeowner were each still HomeField Tax clients at the end of that year's grievance process.

The outcome does not matter. A grievance that wins nothing still earns the credit, so long as both people stayed through the process.

If you used a tracking-only code, the person who shared it does not need to file. Only your own filing counts.

Until every requirement is met the credit is pending. If either agreement is cancelled or revoked before the process ends, nothing is earned.

7. How credits are used

An earned credit is applied automatically to your next HomeField Tax fee invoice, oldest credit first.

A credit can reduce a HomeField Tax fee and nothing else. It cannot be paid out, applied to another person's invoice, or applied to a county charge or any other cost.

A credit never takes an invoice below zero. Anything left over carries forward to your next invoice.

We charge a fee only when we win a reduction, so a year that produces no reduction produces no invoice. A credit is not lost in that year. It waits for the next invoice.

We can correct or reverse a credit awarded through a duplicate referral, a processing error, a refund, a chargeback, a misrepresentation, or abuse of the Program.

8. When credits lapse

An earned credit that has not been used lapses after 24 months with no active HomeField Tax case on either side of the referral. While either of you has a case running, the credit keeps.

9. Your street in the portal

The portal can show you part of your own street, so you can invite people you already know.

It shows up to three properties on each side of yours. For each one it may show the house number, the owner's surname as Nassau County records it, and the credit available for that home.

It does not show contact details, assessments, valuations, estimated savings, case information, or whether anyone is our client.

We never use this display to contact a property owner. You send the invitation. We do not.

A property owner can ask us to take their name out of it by writing to hello@homefieldtax.com.

10. What the referrer is told

If you enter someone's code, we may tell them whether your referral is pending, did not qualify, or earned a credit.

We tell them nothing else. Not your assessment, not your reduction, not your fee, not your documents, and nothing else about your case.

11. Program limits

Only one credit is awarded for a newly referred property, and only one person can be its referrer.

We can deny or reverse a referral that involves duplicate accounts, false information, or misuse. We decide eligibility reasonably, on this Policy and our own records.

12. Changes to the program

We can change or end the Program for future referrals. A change does not reduce a credit already earned, or an amount already fixed when a referred homeowner signed up.

13. Questions

Write to hello@homefieldtax.com or ask through your portal.
